After living at Cerradilla for a few years we accepted that 2 bedrooms would not be enough when many visitors come: particularly with the arrival of grand-daughters! So we consulted immediate relatives and the consensus was overwhelming! Please buy an apartment beside a golf course within reasonable range of Cerradilla and airports serving the UK.

We did. One in Valle del Este, near Vera. It served us very well for several years, especially it’s splendid and much-used swimming pool. It is still owned (though to be sold soon), but for years our golfing sons all hankered after the better golf-course near the border of the Murcia province: Aquilon, near San Juan de Javaria – or about 10 Km from the larger town of Aguilas.

And then on 2021 Duncan found that a rather nice flat was for sale beside the Aguilon Golf Course. And managed to persuade his brothers and his parents (not himself!) to fund its purchase.

Accordingly early September a deposit was paid and after extremely tedious delays (for money-laundering checks..) we obtained our keys on Logan’s 41st birthday on 29th December 2021.The apartment had never been occupied, so the first things we had to do were to arrange for water and electricity to be connected.

Once that was done Logan put in all the lights and we had contractors in to put in extra cupboards in the kitchen, a bigger shower tray and surround, and had shelves put into several of the wardrobes: it was ready for civilised occupation!
