A guide to Birdie 61BA

Let’s assume that you have reached the outside of Birdie block 6.

To the left of the photo (courtesy Google maps) is gate (Puerto) 1 of block 6. If you already have a zapper you can go to the garage down the gates to the right (left button to open the gates, the right button to open the garage door to the left): our parking spaces are then immediately to the left, spaces 15 & 16) .
Otherwise if you have keys one key will open the pedestrian gate. If you don’t then use the video press button and call us on 61BA. (There are hidden spare keys but you will have to ask where these are: such information is not published on a web site!)

If you use the lift then go down to level -2. (Garage is on -1 and street on 0).

When entering the house the electricity will usually already be on, as will the fridge. But you will need to turn up the hot water heater in the “larder”. The knob is on its bottom: turn about 2/3rds up. You can just switch on the aircon beside the passage to bedrooms (it takes a minute or so to activate). Please don’t overuse! One further note re electricity. If you have the 3 heavy users (hot water, aircon and oven) on at the same time it might well trip the system! Please use only 2 at a time. If the system does trip then switch up and down the top line of “fuses” in the box behind the front door until power comes back on – after relieving the excess pressure on usage!

The kitchen. A fair amount of food around – normally the freezer part of the fridge is well stocked (sliced bread and rolls included), and there should be a good basic stock of drinks and food with more than a few days shelf life. There may even be eggs and butter! Supermarkets are mentioned on another Post.

Bedrooms. There are adequate sheets and towels – even duvets in the one under-mattress store! Normally it is best for us to take major items for washing back to Cerradilla as drying is so much more convenient there. So please don’t do too much yourselves!

Bathrooms. Soap, shampoos, Oral-B electric toothbrushes, toothpastes, shaving equipment etc there. A hairdryer is around in one room!

Cushions for outside chairs may well be in one of the wardrobes. Other folding chairs etc are in the storeroom (#8) which you will find in the passageways (the opposite one than the one to get to the swimming pool).

There are blinds for the windows overlooking the courtyard. Please do not wind them right up to the top.

Internet: The password is underneath the wireless router. It works with a sim card which has (at present) a cumulative monthly allowance of 100Gb which should be sufficient unless one spends hours at an end gaming. Which is not what we anticipate you will wish to do there!

A laptop in the one bedroom which can be activated by choosing the “Birdie” selection with a PIN of “61BA”. On Thunderbird there is a pre-set email address of pilardejaravia@hotmail.com (password if needed is B1rd1e61BA)

There is a small box§ beside the television to allow UK television to be shown, but single usage is shared with Cerradilla so please let us know when you will be using it as we have an alternative at the cortijo. (You might have to “press” a screen button marked MYTV to enter “Paul”)

§ This small box is beside the television and normally unplugged. It switches on easily and is controlled by its own handset. Please do NOT leave the Formuler Z+ box on when not in use. If in doubt just pull the plug out from the box

Swimming pool. This is subject to sensible rules of course. No noise after sunset and so on.

And otherwise? More to follow perhaps, but please enjoy Birdie 61BA!
